Goals/Project Objectives
ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System

The purpose of our current project, funded by the Office of  Special Education and Rehabilitation Services (OSERS), is to study the implementation of a computer and information technology approach to ClassWide Peer Tutoring (CWPT).  This approach, called the ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System is a system of peer tutoring instruction with computer software supports designed to help teachers implement effective instruction, monitor progress, and sustain use of the program over time.  The goals of the CWPT-LMS are to improve literacy, access to and participation in the general education curriculum for students with disabilities, and to improve accountability and participation in education reform.

The Objectives of the project are to:

  1. Develop a blueprint for disseminating the CWPT-LMS with training and technical support provided at a distance.  This technical blueprint has been written for school administrators and university staff in order to address the issues associated with CWPT-LMS implementation.

  2. Recruit, train, and implement CWPT-LMS programs in diverse schools around the country.  We are currently looking for additional sites to participate in our project.  If you think you might be interested in implementing our CWPT-LMS program in your classroom, school, or school district, please contact us.  We'd love to hear from you.
  3. Evaluate the blueprint based on system of measures reflecting student achievement, quality and strength of implementation, and participant satisfaction
