Activity Definitions

   

National Consultant

 Site Identified: Consultant has identified 2 participating schools as agreed in the Nation/State Consultant Agreement.

 Conducts Building Orientation: Consultant introduces the ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System (CWPT-LMS) project to the schools’ staff and faculty.

Attends KC Training Institute: ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System (CWPT-LMS) training Institute that will be held in June.

Monitors Progress: Consultant reviews progress presented by the Site Coordinator  

Shares Findings: Shares teacher progress and student findings with others including JG staff.

Site Coordinator

 

CWPT Acceptance: The Coordinator has registered on the Web site and agreed to participate as a local Site Coordinator to the ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System (CWPT-LMS) project.

Attends KC Training Institute: The Coordinator attends CWPT- LMS training Institute that will be held in June.

Conducts Training: The Coordinator Conducts and the Building Coordinator assists in all three teacher training components needed for CWPT-LMS teacher implementation.

Conducts Training Component 1 CWPT-LMS Computer program.

Conducts Training Component 2 CWPT Classroom procedures.

Conducts Training Component 3 Material Preparation.

These training sessions must be conducted and completed prior to the first school day, fall semester.

Monitors Progress: The Coordinator checks teachers’ progress and assists the Building Coordinator with teacher and parent concerns. 

Data Sharing: The Coordinator schedules data sharing meetings with teachers. The Coordinator obtains teacher and student progress and findings from Building Coordinator and shares this information with National Consultant. .

Building Coordinator

 

Role Assignments: The Building Coordinator has registered on the Web site and agreed to participate as a Building Coordinator to the ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System (CWPT-LMS) project. This person has contacted and identified participating teachers and teacher partners.

Assists Training: The Building Coordinator assists in all three CWPT-LMS training components

Monitors Progress: The Building Coordinator oversees teachers’ progress and with the Site Coordinator’s assistance, addresses teacher and parent concerns. 

Works to Obtain Parent Permission: Coordinates teacher dissemination of parent permission forms to students

Conducts Implementation Fidelity & Gives Feedback: The Building Coordinator, with  Teacher Partner assistance, observes all teachers for fidelity of implementation. These observations are to be conducted more frequently in the first three months and once at each school quarter.  The Site Coordinator will provide the instrument form.

Data Sharing: The Building Coordinator receives student progress findings from teachers and shares information with Site Coordinator. 

Teacher Partner

 

Role Assignments: All Teacher Partners are registered on the Web site and agreed to participate in the ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System (CWPT-LMS) project. This person will assist a minimum of one classroom teacher.
 
Attends training: All Teacher Partners will attend all three CWPT-LMS training sessions;
            Training Component 1 CWPT-LMS Computer program,
             Training Component 2 CWPT Classroom procedures, and
            Training Component 3 Material Preparation.
           
Assists CWPT Student Training: All Teacher Partners assist their assigned Teachers with CWPT student training

Teacher

 
Informed: All Teachers are registered on the Web site and agreed to participate in the ClassWide Peer Tutoring - Learning Management System (CWPT-LMS) project.
 
Attends Training: All Teachers will attend all three CWPT-LMS training sessions;
            Training Component 1 CWPT-LMS Computer program,
            Training Component 2 CWPT Classroom procedures, and
            Training Component 3 Material Preparation.
 
Sends out Parent Permission Forms: All participating teachers send out parent permission slips with their students.  These are signed and returned to the teacher.  Parents remain with a copy of the form.  The Site and Building Coordinator provide the forms. 
 
Curriculum Material, Pre & Post Test Preparation: Teachers prepare their regular curriculum with the CWPT-LMS procedure.  Testing items are prepared at this time.
 
Conducts Pretest: Teachers conduct student reading rates and comprehension tests.
            Teacher partner can assist in this process.
 
Conducts CWPT Student Training: Teacher and Teacher Partner train students in the CWPT-LMS procedure.
 
CWPT Implementation: The Teachers are fully implementing CWPT-LMS.
 
Conducts Post Test & Pretest for next material: Teachers conduct student comprehension posttests and pretests for the following week’s material to be covered.
           
Data Sharing: Teachers share student procedural and outcome information with their Teacher Partner and Building Coordinator.
 
Extends CWPT to Another Subject: Teachers plan to expand CWPT-LMS with another subject (spelling, reading, vocabulary).
 

Additional Subject CWPT Implementation:  Teachers expand CWPT-LMS with another subject

Data Sharing: Teachers share student procedural and outcome information with their Teacher Partner, and Building Coordinator.  Individual students’ quarterly progress data and graphs are shared with parents.

Parent

 

Informed Consent: Parents receive; sign, and return parent consent forms to teachers. Parent contacts Building Coordinator with any concerns about the project and consent form.

Progress Report: Parents receive Individual student’s quarterly progress data and graphs.  This can be done during teacher parent conferences.  This is an opportunity for parent feedback.
